SONY HAS OFFERED users of its Satio handset a patch to fix the phone's current bugs.
The firm was shamed a couple of weeks ago when the Satio was yanked off shelves at Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u for technical reasons. Apparently the phone would freeze when running more than one application. Embarrassing for the company, but it seems that a solution is at hand.
Satio users should visit their Sony Ericsson download site and install the firmware update labelled version R1CA037. However, some blogs suggest that the patch only applies to non-branded phones, so this likely won't work for phones sold by Vodafone. Those users will have to wait.
Early downloaders have commented that the phone seems to run a bit faster, but a search on both the Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u web sites revealed that neither has started offering the handset to customers again.
Sony has suffered similar problems with its Aino handset, however so far that model has been neither withdrawn from sale nor patched. µ

Phones4U are still pushing through sales...
I really loved the reviews of this product, and I went to Phones 4U in Derby to buy one. I was led along through the sale. The word 'recall' was mentioned, though I assumed it was not important as the sales lady pushed on to close the sale. Then they only had one product in stock which couldn't be turned on. She then tried to order one from another store and get me to come back the next day. I declined. I went around the corner to the Orange store, where a sales lady told me they were not allowed to sell this product because they had received 'endless complaints and product returns'. I was told by Orange the software is a mess and the product has been recalled. I love Sony stuff, and I'm really annoyed this product is a mess. I'm more annoyed with the pushy Phones4U sales trying to push through a sale on a product they knew had been recalled.
At least Sony see their mistake and try to fix it.
Unlike samsung that releases poor quality Pixon phone and lies about its' features and applications.
Only to find out that the phone is completely buggy, seems like a poor prototype of a good idea.
No application support what so ever. Everything with the phone is terrible.
But yet T-Mobile continue to sell it.

As someone in the know...
The reason no patch was released was because no patch was required. After reviewing the device VF decided only the 'non-branded' devices were affected by the firmware issue - hence why they were never withdrawn.
If you are going to post news, at least post both sides.
