Sony defends another phone

This time its the Aino
Fri Nov 27 2009, 11:20

IT HAS NOT BEEN A GOOD WEEK for Sony as its handset sales have been suspended more times than British trains in the rain.

At the start of the week the firm's Satio handset was yanked off shelves in Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U after 'technical issues' raised their ugly heads. Now the Aino model has been fingered for having its own problems, causing much consternation amongst its users.

According to a report in the Times, the handset has not been recalled, yet. Richard Dorman, senior marketing manager at Sony Ericsson, told the paper that although some customers had 'encountered problems' with the phone's touchscreen, "The product is still in store and has not been recalled".

Regardless of that, it is unfortunate that the firm has been forced into defending the performance and stability of two of its newest handsets in the run up to Christmas, which is usually a boom time for mobile retailers.

At time of publishing Carphone Warehouse had no Satio handsets available for purchase, but was still offering the Aino. µ

This is just another junky, pushed-out-the-door POS (like most other "phones" that are being shoved down our throats) that purports gimmicky, useless technology as something we actually "need".

Synchronize with your PS3 ??? LAWL WHY?

HTC HD2 also has defects

There have recently been many news stories about another phone, the HTC HD2, which reports say has a defective camera that puts pink marks on your photos.

At least with the Sony Ericsson phone, it was taken off the shelves. The HTC HD2 is still selling, pink camera and all.
