SONY ERICSSON is launching an elite addition to its Xperia range.

The Pureness is essentially a pretty standard candy bar feature phone, but it does have a transparent screen and also includes a 24-hour concierge service to ensure you're always booked into the best restaurants, health clubs, concerts, plays, events and nightclubs.

Details about the Pureness are a little thin on the ground, but we do know it measures 102x43x13mm, weighs 70g and the display is a 1.8-inch monochrome TFT transparent screen.

The device itself has about 88MB of storage, and it ships with a 2GB card.

Being a premium device, if it breaks while you're jet setting about the globe you'll have a new one within 48 hours, in most areas.

The Pureness will be launched in the UK at an event being held at Selfridges in London next week.

No pricing details were given, but if you have to ask, you probably can't afford one. µ

Just because a monochrome image is all that is displayed...

doesn't mean that's all it can display.

OLED

You'd think they'd be using something more than a monochrome display... transparent OLEDs have been shown off already at various trade shows. Seems like a rip-off of a "premium" device.
