INSPECTOR KNACKER of the Manchester Yard has fingered the collars of two people thought responsible for helping to spread malicious Trojan computer programs sometimes known as "Zbot" or "ZeuS".

The couple, a man and a woman, both 20, were arrested November 3rd. The malware apparently has infected tens of thousands of computers worldwide.

Media friendly Graham Cluley, a principal at the UK insecurity firm Sophos, told the AP that Zbot has been a most notorious pieces of malware recently.

Zbot appeared in 2007 and it periodically sweeps the world wide web stealing personal information and feeding it back to cybercriminals.

It is not clear exactly what the Manchester pair did to help propagate the malware. They have been released on bail and the coppers aren't saying much more. µ
