Microsoft will release six updates next Patch Tuesday

No Window 7 ones, this time
Friday, 6 November 2009, 16:10

MICROSOFT HAS announced that it will release six security updates, with three for Windows labelled as 'critical', next Patch Tuesday, the 10th of November.

The Vole's patches for Windows will address four critical remote code execution vulnerabilities. Windows 7 seems to have escaped this time as affected versions of Windows include Windows 2000 SP4, XP, Vista and Windows Server 2003 and 2008.

The critical flaws could let a hacker run code from an affected system. There is also one Windows patch that's 'important' which could result in a Denial of Service.

Last month Windows 7 got a patch, even though it wasn't yet released.

The two updates for Office, rated as merely important, address issues in Excel and the Excel Viewer. Office XP, 2003 and 2007 and Office 2004 and 2008 for Mac will be updated. µ
