PC MAKER Lenovo doesn't expect businesses to start upgrading and replacing old computers until the second half of 2010. However it hopes that an increase in market share will convince the Chinese government to let it list on its mainland stock exchanges.
Speaking in an interview with the Dow Jones, Yang Yuanqing, CEO of Lenovo also said that Windows 7 represents a great opportunity for the Chinese company. He reckons that the latest Windows will help the company expand its market share.
Lenovo is a Chinese company, but isn't Chinese listed. The Chinese government has said in reports in its media that it is considering allowing foreign-registered companies to list on mainland stock exchanges in the coming year.
The company's chief financial officer, Wong Wai Ming, said Lenovo is "definitely interested" in listing yuan-denominated A shares in mainland China, and the company will start working on the mainland listing once opportunities arise. µ
Really? I can't find it... :-(
Last one I found from them was possibly the worlds worst "My first program", it was terrible... All it did was show you all the versions you could download, it didn't check what you already had... Hell it couldn't even tell what machine you were running it on meaning you have to flip it over to read the 7 digit code off the sticker!
There is an update tool, I had to look for it myself since it isn't advertised clearly. I believe it is for Windows 7 at the moment. Version 4 is what has been released. Works great.
You lost quite a few loyal Thinkpad customers, including me, when you removed the software/driver update tool.
