Tech firms are most attractive to students

Google and the Vole are top
Monday, 2 November 2009, 14:15

TECH COMPANIES are the most attractive places to work according to a global survey of business students, with Google and Microsoft topping the list.

Google was also named the best place to work for engineering students, with Microsoft in second and IBM in third.

We understand why the giant multi-coloured crèches-slash-offices of Google might entice people, and perhaps its free canteens and chill-out spaces might lead some future jobseekers to say it's the best place to work. What student isn't drawn to a beanbag and a free meal?

The survey of nearly 120,000 business and engineering graduates worldwide by Universum found Google most attractive as an employer with Microsoft a close second. Other companies in its top 50 included Sony, BP and Deloitte.

The countries represented in the rankings were the US, Japan, China, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Russia, Spain, Canada and India. µ

Microsoft?

I am surprised that Microsoft is considered attractive as I see them as a morally repugnant firm producing crap products. Working there must be a real drag.
