Samsung to launch memory cards

ELECTRONICS GIANT Samsumg is going to start flogging its own-brand memory cards at the end of October.

According to Digitimes, Samsung is working with Transcend and will make a formal announcement on October 20. Transcend already markets its own memory cards although these are supposed to be more the cheap and cheerful variety.

The rumour mill has been muttering about Samsung flogging its own brand memory cards since 2007.

Apparently the Korean conglomerate is aiming at the higher end of the market and will adopt its in-house developed memory cards for its future own-brand handset and digital camera products. µ
