Apple fights big business

Over global warming
Tuesday, 6 October 2009, 13:04

FRUIT THEMED gadget maker Apple has apparently walked out of the US Chamber of Commerce because of its medieval global warming policy.

According to Reuters, Apple is miffed at the Chamber of Commerce over its environmental policy.

This apparently involves paying scientists to oppose the notion of man-made global warming, which Apple seems to think is real.

Apple said, "We would prefer that the chamber take a more progressive stance on this critical issue and play a constructive role in addressing the climate crisis."

Catherine Novelli, a vice president of government affairs at Apple resigned its membership in the business group "effective immediately".

Apple joined three big power utilities, Exelon Corp, PG&E Corp and PNM Resources Inc, which said they were leaving the chamber over the group's stance on climate change.

There is a feeling that while the chamber's members are okay with tackling global warming, the group is still trapped in its 1960's view that the environment is less important than profits.

The chamber said in a statement that it favors "mainstream, common sense views" on climate change but opposed a climate bill that the House of Representatives narrowly passed in June.

Apple has been peddling itself as a green computer outfit as part of marketing itself as cool, hip and elite, even if Greenpeace feels it is not doing enough.

We guess that by making a statement such as this, Apple might hope to get back on Greenpeace's Christmas card list. µ

The idiot Al Gore worked(s) for Apple

I had a Powerbook for years and like OS X but Apple is getting on my nerves. I don't buy into the hipe of man made global warming. Sure some in government do because they see huge tax increases in the name of saving the planet, and more control of your lives, total BS, If any scientist are getting paid off it's the ones getting all these grants to side with the kooks on the left like Al Gore who is or was on the board of directors at Apple.
There are hundreds of prominent scientists around the globe who say Al Gore and his kook crowd are idiots too but they are stiffed and not covered in the news because they do not fit the agenda the powers to be have.
Apple can kiss my arse I'm staying with Ubuntu and my next laptop will be a Linux rig, after I wipe Windows 7 off of it.

Medieval science?!??

Yeah, since when is asking people to abide by the scientific method medieval? You know, allowing other people to check and reproduce their results as opposed to the current "science by popularity contest" that the Hockey Stick team practices? Or maybe I missed that day in Junior High School science class - "Well, if you don't feel like testing your hypothesis against the real world you can just do a survey to find out if your theory is super-popular. It's pretty much the same thing."

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the AGW crowd are the ones practicing medieval science - they'd even burn the heretics at the stake if they could find a way to make it carbon-neutral. That's not to say they're wrong - bad methodology doesn't specifically mean the results are wrong, it just means they aren't any sort of proven. If they're right then it's by accident rather than through any sort of science.

I'll leave you with this: The chart of Dr. James Hanson's 20-year predictions of climate change(A, B, and C scenarios), versus actual measurements in the real world:

The results? Epic fail.

Backlash Against Global Warming?

I am surprised to see such backlash against Global Warming. I was beginning to thing I was the minority.

Anyone wanting to spend THEIR money on a cause is great, I applaud it. But when they want to spend MY money, that is when I stand up.

I always say 'Take Government funding out of everything, and the weird stuff goes away'

Ice Age

I'm in my 40s and when I was growing up it was the same mind set of tree huggers that were preaching that the next Ice Age was just around the corner. Now they see huge amounts of money they can steal, I mean tax from you in the name of global warming and idiots everywhere are lining up with their wallets open, idiots.

This is getting silly

It is a simple execise to see what companies feel they can make money from the global warming scam. They have shown their true colors with the chamber of commerce call for a fair review of science. Anybody that actually spends time to review the science is skeptical, people that aren't, simply read someone elses censored and manipulated review of the science. People would do well to actually read the research instead of the news articles. People should be outraged about this fraud and censoring. This is just an excuse to tax and control people and the apple board member Al Gore stands to make billions.

Climate crisis? What climate crisis?

Don't you worry about that...

You'll be happy to learn that neither side has a monopoly on sons of bitches.

But we need YOUR help in taking the initiative in creating an Internet to
Keep the Bastards Honest!

I know, this all sounds complicated...

But if we all pull together, we may
ease the squeeze.

Larry knows, what the world and his dog really needs is only one 24-litre can-case of Castlemaine and a toilet roll ... I have here in my hand a list of ... let's not go into that.

Why not go even further and make it a musical?

In no time, we may have the entire Right-Wing Conspiracy dropping their trou in front of a magistrate for antisocial behaviour. Oh. The magistrate is an RW conspirator too?

Oh well... the Times, they are a Schengen!

We are the party of "Yes Well" and God yes, send us the money! British Sterling will be fine.

Apple sells to the naive and foolish

so they have no demographic to sell to in this group, heh.

Seriously, my old chemistry teacher says that the heating system inside the planet could be causing the global warming.

Think about how much molten lava there is just under the surface of our planet, and that our magnetic core flips every million years, something big is driving that. He says it might be some form of nuclear reaction, like the sun's, but a bit different.

Maybe this reactor has some slightly different source of fuel right now, and maybe that's causing an undergroud heat increase, which is warming the oceans, causing these earthquakes etc?

Perhaps it is also causing this global warming?

Maybe we need Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood to drill to the center of the earth and ask it to "cool down".
