A COUPLE of intrepid hacks at the Inquirer's enterprise IT news sister site V3 have put together a list of their top 10 technology essentials for travel.
Iain Thomson and Shaun Nichols discuss a surprising variety of IT resources for the traveler over there. µ
It mentions both mapping, and GPS, and describes them as different things. Now i agree that they are different, but surely they could have been grouped under one category. Not mapping at #8 and gps at 3.
It also mentions electronic check in, for airports. Yes this is useful, but not exactly like i can pack it in my bag. If my airline has it, its a bonus, but not something i'd class as essential to my trip.
Getting a bit sick of the "check out what our sister site has to offer"
its an article on their sister site for starters, which isnt so much a list of travel essentials, so much as a list of inventions which have made travel easier for the tech person.
I mean, wtf? bluetooth? its an invention which comes with almost all phones, not an item to make sure you pack, like the inq suggests the article will have.
Yes I'm a little pissed I wasted my time on an article i hoped would be much more interesting
