Blair is an utterly discredited prime minister. He's a well intentioned fool - David Starkey
AN APPLE fanboy who was upset that his Iphone didn't work threatened to execute the gadget in front of a bemused black shirted Apple staff member.
Donald Goodrich, 38, of Westwood, Ohio in the US was apparently surprised when his Iphone didn't work.
Dressed in his 'think different' uniform with a smug black shirt, Goodrich showed up and asked the staff at the Kenwood Towne Centre Apple store to fix it.
He told the employee he was "So mad, I could pop a 9mm at it".
The employee was so shocked that someone might harm something that Steve Jobs had lovingly given the world that she reportedly said there was no need for that.
Goodrich allegedly told the employee, "I'll do it right now. Look!"
He then allegedly opened the right side of his shirt to show off his black, 9mm Ihandgun.
It was not against the law for Goodrich to be carrying the gun because he had a concealed weapons permit. However the move did wipe the smug look off the employee's face and she said she would get his Iphone fixed right away.
Of course she was lying. It would take more than just a 9mm handgun to get an Iphone properly fixed right away.
She took Goodrich over to a technician then told her manager about his threats to kill his Iphone, and the manager called the police.
When contacted by law enforcement, Goodrich somehow neglected to tell the deputy that he was armed.
He was arrested and charged with aggravated menacing for causing fear of harm to an Apple employee. And because he didn't tell the deputy he was carrying the gun he also faces a concealed weapons charge.
We're not quite sure that the aggravated menacing charge will stick. After all, he only threatened to shoot the Iphone, which technically isn't protected by the US Constitution. Perhaps he'll be allowed to plead down to simple menacing because he didn't actually pull the gun out or threaten the Apple employee personally.
We would have thought that if the US wanted to protect Iphones from people pissed off by them breaking down or exploding, then it would have to remove the Second Amendment from the US Constitution's Bill of Rights entirely.
Give lots of people guns, Iphones and the AT&T network, and sooner or later an Iphone will be so smug or useless it will get plugged. µ
if he has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, he has no obligation to tell a pig about it. stupid cops, i swear they are all retards.
Grocer's* apostrope's* in the headlines, now? Blimey, the Inqs* gone downhill.
Its* a bloody embarrassment.
(* Deliberate, unlike the author's one)
Telling someone your going to shoot something and revealing your (no longer concealed) weapon probably is not legal.
That's why it's called a "Carrying a Concealed Weapon" CCW, permit. You can't show it to people. I'm pretty sure shooting an iphone in a store is dangerous to the staff. I support CCW's, but this guy need to have his revoked and face the legal consequences.
Under Ohio State's code 2923.12 (Carrying CCW):
(B) No person who has been issued a license...shall:
1)...Fail to promptly inform any law enforcement officer who approaches the person ...that the person has been issued a license or temporary emergency license to carry a concealed handgun and that the person then is carrying a concealed handgun
(F)(2)...If the person is not able to promptly produce any of those types of license...the officer may arrest the person for a violation of that division
It's all about respecting our rights, not treating them like their owed to us. This guy should have never shown it in the first place, as that in itself can be taken as a threat as it wasn't defensive at that point or for protecting himself. It was purely in an offensive manner.
You got a gun? Don't pull it on people, or tell them you're going to. That's just dumb.
I'm licensed in several classes of weaponry, but there is one simple rule we all should always remember... in the USofA anyway.
"Brandish your weapon; go to jail".
It's just that simple, and this moron should not only go to jail, he should be fined and his license revoked for all eternity.
I think his glands need to be removed to to prevent his particular brand of gene pool pollution, but that might be a bit much. Might not though.
Bet the NRA leadership gets their asses over their backs over this one and threatens to boycott Apple over this. I am an NRA member and have a CCW, and even I recognise that rights have responsibilities, folks. One of the responsibilities of CCW is not to go waving it around or showing it off. Another is to not use or threaten to use the weapon in such a way that the use would endanger others. People like this give those of us who exercise our rights responsibly a bad name.
The 2nd Amendment says that USA must have an armed Militia (to defeat the regular armed forces and/or kill the president, if necessary).
I know there's also an added footnote that the US government (at the time of writing) can't afford to fund such a militia (the National Guard), and therefore must let the citizens buy their own firearms.
That footnote is obviously now defunct, or the NG would be unconstitutional!
Conceal and carry does not mean that you don't have to tell police that you are armed. You also have to show them your permit. You do not get to make remarks about shooting phones or people (unless you are threatened with bodily harm by people). This guy will probably lose his permit to carry as he is an idiot.
You obviously cannot read plain English, and it frightens me that you probably drive a car and can vote.
Using your reasoning, the 1st Amendment only applies free speech to when you are "petitioning the govt for redress of grievances".
I'll suggest you review your middle school English lessons and figure out the "what" and the "why" of the Bill of Rights (or privileges at govt discretion) so you don't look like such an absolute idiot when you talk or scribble.
The NRA has an app for that.
In our neck of the woods, a candidate for adjutant general (The adjutant general runs the Army and Air National Guard, the State Guard and the Emergency Management Division) launched his campaign by raffling off an AK-47 assault rifle away at a "machine gun social" for political contributors. The cost was $25, for which you could eat barbecue and shoot a clip of bullets from your choice of automatic weapons. It's nice to see you still get bang for your buck.
People showing up at National Healthcare townhall meetings, brandishing their assault weapons. Where do we live? Afghanistan?
Oh, and the deluge of solicitations for my contributions accompanied in faux "alarmist" surveys fill my rubbish bin.
All it took in the Deer Hunter was one shot, innit?
Do many Apple customers walk around with iGuns? Isn't that risky, given that iPhones are annoyingly fragile and are on a shitty network, aren't some of these "clever cool gunnies" going to lose their temper and just start shooting?
I was at a water park in the USA, in Disney. The security guard had a pair of hand guns. FFS, I've never been to any other country where a security guard at a water park had 2 guns. This is something Disney didn't tell us in their brochure, lol.
Just what could possibly happen at a Disney water park that would need the security guards to start shooting with both guns?
Only in America, the home of the brave, the paranoid, the insane, and all of them able to carry guns.
I hope the 2nd charge thing is false...
The government makes a citizen obtain a PERMIT to exercise their 2nd highest Constitutional right, then CHARGES them with a crime when the citizen doesn't TELL the Government they were EXERCISING one of their Constitutional Rights! Welcome to the Brave New World...
