Palm nicks Mozilla developers

Cheese in hand
Monday, 28 September 2009, 13:25

MAKER OF GIZMOS Palm has half-inched two key developers from the Mozilla Foundation.

Dion Almaer and Ben Galbraith will leave the helm of Mozzarella's Developer Tools Lab to join Palm.

The pair are expected to leave their cheesy ways behind to help advance the Palm WebOS and enhance its developer community.

Almaer and Galbraith are known for their JavaScript and Web development ideas. They are seen as Ajax pioneers, which we guess means that they sat in a covered wagon while the injuns set fire to their servers.

They were behind Bespin, a coding environment for Web developers. They are expected to come up with ideas for improving WebOS and its community to get more software onto the platform.

Writing in his blog , Almaer said this was a "massive opportunity" with Palm's WebOS to give web developers the ability to deploy outside of the browser and onto the device. µ
