Happy One Web Day

TODAY IS ONEWEBDAY, your chance to celebrate the "awesomeness" of the web and make it more open and available to otherwise uncatered for individuals.

Backed by Mozilla, to whom we must credit the use of the word "awesomeness", today apparently is a chance to make the world wide wibble better by tinkering with your social networking sites, printing off posters that say, "I love the web", donating money, and quitting the use of IE 6. Not wholly altruistic then.

As well as donating its own cash to the event, Mozzarella said it will add an additional 10 cents for every dollar that is donated, up to $100,000. It added, "Funds will be used for activities of mutual interest to Mozilla and One Web Day", making it something of a win-win for the day.

Those of you who want to display the poster in question will be greeted by an image that looks like a road accident involving flies, while the day's Internet Health Check service link takes you to a page that tells you what web browser you are using before attempting to badger you into badgering someone else about their browser choice.
