HP HAS UNVEILED its latest line of wirelessly connected screen display systems. The DreamScreen displays allow users to wirelessly connect systems to a standalone external display. The screen can then be used to display information such as presentations and multimedia files.
The company has also included a number of pre-installed components that allow users to stream data from sites such as Facebook, Pandora Radio and the Snapfish photo service. Additionally, the screen can be connected to a local network to stream photos and multimedia files.
HP hopes that the new systems will allow users to present information and share multimedia files without necessarily requiring them to be near a PC.
"Constant access to friends, information and entertainment is a common expectation today," explained Satijiv Chahil, senior vice president of worldwide marketing for HP's Personal Systems Group.
"With HP DreamScreen, social media, web services and digital entertainment can be enjoyed in more areas."
HP plans to offer a 10in DreamScreen 100 model in the US from early next month at a cost of $249 (£152). A 13in model due later in the year will cost $299 (£183). µ
Checking the specs I find this to be little more than a simple viewer for still images (up to 800x480 pixels).
The only difference between this version and the previous ones is that the regular USB interface has been complimented by Wi-Fi.

I suspect it wont be enough, considering these new products will not have been tested for safety (ie wifi/microwave PMR induced Cancers or other health effects caused by PMR(pulsed microwave radiaton) which is worse than smoking(just takes longer to kill you, and wont leave a smoking gun as evidence).
