Louis Pasteur's theory of germs is ridiculous fiction - Pierre Pachet
THERE ARE SIGNS that the IT downturn has passed as Indian outsourcers are starting to hire again on a massive scale.
Tata Consulting Services (TCS) has said it plans to hire 25,000 people, marking the end of a slowdown for Indian outsourcers that began with the collapse of Lehman Brothers last September.
TCS vice-president Tanmoy Chakrabarty said that the outfit employs 145,000 people and wants to add 25,000 by the end of the year
According to the Times of India, analysts in the ancient land said that the TCS hiring plans come after a long dull period and the announcement will boost the Indian IT recruitment scene.
However it is unlikely that TCS would be hiring if it did not see a huge expansion in projects for its customers in Europe and North America. So far Indian outsourcing companies have not relied much on their domestic market to generate business.
If this is the case, then IT workers in the US, UK and EU might become a little more nervous about their job security. µ
You are missing the Indian labor costs, this story holds only if it remained steady which I doubt. If the cost of labor fell then its possible that they are hiring to take advantage of the low costs hedging on the end of recession.
You get what you pay for.
Just go for EE coders - the price/quality ratio is 10:1 compared to continental asian coders.
EE=East European
"the price/quality ratio is 10:1 compared to continental asian coders."
What makes you think that quality comes up in the decision process at all?
Cynic is right when does quality come into play, its all about price, even in health care its all about the price.
Jobless economic return here we come.
Glad it does not affect me any more.
