Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty - Stanislaw J. Lec
MICROSOFT AND INTEL held a bit of a love-in in San Francisco this week to convince PC buyers of the benefits of pairing Windows 7 with Intel's latest processor lines.
Company engineers were on hand to show demonstrations of the two products in action, including a look at Intel's 32nm Westmere architecture with hyper-threading and Turbo Boost, and the power savings on offer from running Windows 7 on Montevina.
You can watch the demo video at V3.co.uk.
Let's be serious: Windows 7 is simply a rebranding campaign for Vista. They put in a few new UI features to make it look shiny and new. But we all know how many years it takes Microsloth to do anything significant. Don't fall for the hype - this is the same old bloatware.
Wow unimpressed, I'm unimpressed at a 'same old' comment that Windows 7 is nothing new. How many people have already said that? Oh the irony...
Is that just your knee jerk reaction or is it based upon some analysis ?
The tech articles I've read so far say just the opposite -- that Win 7 is something to switch to. I also saw that Intel and other companies, who sat out switching to Vista internally, will be going ahead now with whole scale conversion to Windows 7 because it is a big improvement.

The only time MS managed to create a useable OS was when they built NT. And they had to get someone from outside to do it. And from that they live to this very day.
I bought 3 copies of win7 for $50/ea.....I would not have done this if I didn't believe Win7 was far superior to Vista, and at least equal to xp.....
Course I have been using it since its beta release....
I wonder if those bashing have even tried it???
Win7 will be the best overall OS when released..... period.
Flame away..........
Nico, i like how you throw noob around so much, makes you sound really experienced! ....... Anyhow
To those that flame it, unfortunately it is the case that the fat cat wins, Windows 7 Is a good product, made by a company who has the money to throw at their software so much so that it is the jack of all trades. Yes it's not the master of anything but being average/good at everything but because of that they have the most professional and most widely supported package. Despite what other say (Nico) they have fixed the crap OS faults that were apparent in vista.
Yes Linux is good, but it's not nearly as widely supported by business products, and not nearly as user friendly. When something goes wrong it's a pain in the ass to figure out if it's a dodgy software install or if it's something else.
Mac are no better, swap out user friendliness and fault finding for security holes, cost and bureaucratic bulls**t.
I'm a fan of underdogs and do play with Linux, it serves it's own purposes. Windows 7 has put M$ back on top before the competitor started to take big market gain, end of story
i've been using vista since version rc2 and on monday i switched to win 7. well, don't know about others but i find it snappier, less annoying, looks better, manages memory much better, hard drives 'calmed down' and networking is much better, UAC has few options not just enabled/disabled and new 'action center' is nice feature but some might find it annoying. but there's one thing which annoys me - control panel doesn't remember that i want to see its contents as 'large icons' view not that stupid categories. but so far i'm impressed and looks like microsoft released good os. but still i prefer mac os :)
A comment from someone that is intimate with linux explains linux (Any Flavor):
"pile of junk.. shitty bare minimum improvement on linux... same flaws.. same crap style.. even more crappy layouts.. same shit explorer..extra shitty noob features.. same useless amount of options and customization provide.. same amount of reg/tweak/fix hunting.. but hey its on par with XP now and 8+year old OS that still has far better working shell extensions for far better workflow improvements than the crap MS job have done in expert backwards retardation...and best of all none of the retarded changes."
You my friend just explained Linux.
I don't know what planet some of the above posters have just returned from, but they obviously didn't actually use Windows 7 while they were out there. I've had it since Beta, through RC and now I have the final version. It's a vast improvement on both Vista and XP. Linux is rubbish by comparison. 7 isn't bloated, it's faster, consumes less resources, has some nifty new features and looks great. What's not to like?
Get laid once in a while, it will do you good.
Seriously son, you are wound up tighter than ducttape.
It's an Operating System big whoop.
get over it.
Vista was so poorly designed that no notebook manufacterer dared to deliver their notebooks with vista. Windows 7 is the same lame duck. Windows 7 is nothing but a big marketing hype. And Microsoft is so poor in mind that they even found it necessary to steel from the poorest of the poorest (from BSD-Unix): the design of the Vista Shut down options box.
Laptops weren't sold with Windows Vista? Where'd that come from... how old is this comment? I bought a laptop YEARS ago that had vista on it, and i've never seen a blue screen on it. I'm a computer programmer by trade and I love Win7 compared to Vista.
By the way, how many Laptops are sold with Linux on them?
While I work in Application Development in .NET, I have no interest at all in anything Linux has to offer. I don't feel like learning C\C++ and fiddling with the Kernel and Bits\Bytes to configure the damn thing and do anything with it. Talk about steaming piles. Linux users are the ultimate computer geeks who never get laid, play dungeons and dragons all night, and have puss-filled zits all over the face.
As opposed to Linux bloatware that suffers from.. it should have died, but it still lives, but I wouldn't call that a life.
Oh no. something new is coming out. Quick dont adapt or see what happens complain now whilst you don't know anything about it and hate it. Quick complain, before you actually know about it and like it . This site is getting worse and worse. you keyboard warriors !!
