It's pretty hard to be efficient without being obnoxious - Kin Hubbard
A DATING SITE for those who want to find someone who shares a belief in fundamentalist Christianity has been hacked.
The hackers apparently were from an online group called 4chan. These were the guys who hacked former governor Sarah Palin's email account and allegedly defamed her by mentioning that she was from Alaska and a Republican.
They have also spread a fair bit of hoax news about a spate of celebrity deaths. These clowns are a laugh a minute.
For some reason people who have accepted Jesus into their lives and don't believe in dinosaurs have become a fascination for 4chan.
They broke into the unnamed Christian dating site and used data they found there to break into Facebook accounts.
One woman had her face put on top of a picture of a naked woman and published on her Facebook page.
Another Christian woman who made a big thing about not having sex before a ritual to secure mutual property rights found that she had published a status update on her page thanking "Michael" for sex the night before [We thought in Christianity it was Raphael who deflowered virgins. Ed]
Other posts included racist hate messages and messages pretending that the poster had contemplated suicide or had killed a homeless person.
The hackers also caused trouble between the users and their friends by writing on one user's photo that their baby was "ugly" and on another woman's photo that her teeth matched her skin.
A blog called The Coffee Desk has screenshots showing some of the hackers' work.
It might be a response from 4chan for hacking of the newsgroup for worshippers of atheism by born-again Christians. Jesus apparently ordered his followers to attack Richard Dawkin's site.
There is nothing worse than when two religions go to war. µ
The can't do anything but turn the other cheek can they ;-)
What on earth are they?
How can you worship a belief that there is no god?
Baffling.
Since science can't prove the non-existence of God, atheism's central creed is a faith. People who believe it are just as much a religion as those who believe in God. Certainly the likes of Dawkins feel the need to thrust their atheism down the throats of anyone who disagrees with them. Just in the same way that a born again christian does. Yet they can smugly say "we are not a religion we don't believe in God". Either way being an agnostic is less of a religion, more of a cry for both sides to put up or shut up.
Great arguments but irrelevant.
Science also can't disprove the existence of pink unicorns, the flying spaghetti monster or toasters flying in space around Saturn.
As with god their existence can't be disproved, but the chance they exist are irrelevantly small.
And the do not comment or interfere argument is also irrelevant, as religion has always interfered with things they had no knowledge off.
E.g. the pope still plays Don Quichote regarding birth control.. If you do not play the sport, then don't interfere with its rules.
But if you do then don't whine if other people people commend on your religious hobby/mental illness.
well said. :)
Science cannot disprove the existence of anything, so that's not much of an argument. Also, pink unicorns and a Creator God are two vastly different concepts. There is no evidence, direct or indirect, of the existence of pink unicorns. However, one could make a reasonable case for the existence of a Creator. The Principle of Sufficient Reason, upon which scientific reasoning is based, requires that for every existent entity X, there is a sufficient reason why X exists. This notion is related to, but not identical with, a principle of causation, which requires that cause precede effect. In light of these ideas, one could argue, as Aquinas did, that God is the First Cause.
Let's assume that the current cosmological model is roughly correct. Some time, just under 14 billion years ago, the universe, all that is knowable to science, began. Yet, if all things have a cause, an event sufficient to bring about a thing, what cause was sufficient to initiate the Big Bang? One could argue that the universe is pulsating, that it expands in a Big Bang and collapses into a Big Crunch, over and over again, ad infinitum. Or one could posit that our universe is but one universe in a multiverse, an infinity of other realities (though is it really just a redefinition of a universe, and so not really an explanation). In either case, we have to postulate infinity and eternity as an explanation for the existence of the universe. This position requires one to believe that the universe/multiverse is eternal and uncreated; it simply always existed, and should be taken as a given. But is this truly any different than the notion of a Creator God? From the standpoint of simplicity, the existence of an infinite and eternal universe/multiverse is no more likely than the existence of a Creator God. The evidence is lacking to prove either conclusively. Thus to adhere to either proposition is an act of faith, not reason.
One lamentable consequence of the evolution of science from natural philosophy is profound lack of humility. Science is an epistemological enterprise with metaphysical implications. It is not the final authority on the truth of our existence. To claim otherwise is intellectually dishonest.
It needs to be said that atheists do not believe in god. This is logically different from believing there is no god. Some probably believe there is no god. Most certainly think that there is no evidence for a judeo-xtian god, or a direct creator of man, but that does not immediately put them into the category of people who believe that it is impossible that the universe was intentionally created by some action or accident.
Be that as it may there is no evidence to attribute the ultimate reason for our universe's existence to a creator. It could be a creator, or it could be a natural process that we do not yet understand.
Who says Pink Unicorns did not start it all...
;-)

You are mixing up atheism and agnosticism. Atheists believe there is no god, it is a belief system, a negative (i.e. opposite) vision on theistic religions.
Agnostics, on the other hand, don't believe in a god (i.e. don't KNOW there is a god), which does not mean it does not exist. They just don't care.
To add more confusion, you can be a pure theist. In this case, you believe there is something (a god, a natural energy, whatever) but you don't believe in any religion or manifestation of said entity / phenomena / whatever.
Well who created the creator ? And why in the hell does he let us live like this where people are dying from starvation every minute of the day. If there is a god he doesnt have compassion in my book. I believe that this earth was engineered by someone but if it is by a god or many gods that has yet to be proven by any religion. You can say well we have the bible that talks about creation. Yeah but humans wrote it and to be human is to error. The bible was transcribed over many thousands of years until the printing press was invented. How many errors are there in the bible from all those ppl re-writing the bible over all those years. In my opinion right now is a good time for god to show himself if there is really a god. It would end alot of this world fighting and hunger.
Cor Blimey. They think of everything, don't they, mate?
I thought the 4chan coffee club was what edited the wackypedia. (BTW Nick, are you still in shape to go a few rounds on a ring, or are you down for the count?)
reliable sources know it was ebaumsworld.

allegedly defamed her by mentioning that she was from Alaska and a Republican - apperently being called a republican and an alaskan are defamatory
For some reason people who have accepted Jesus into their lives and don't believe in dinosaurs have become a fascination for 4chan - how can you not consider adults who live in a fairy tale world and not be considered crazy not interesting?
WRONG.
There is no need to prove the non-existance of 'god'. It is the believers that have to prove the existance. The burden is on their side. If the existance can not be proven, it does not exist. Very simple. So athesim is not based on belief but simple facts.
But christian blockheads never get that simple things right.
Knowing how ebaums operates from seeing their actions over the years, it is hardly that Christians were targeted. It just happened that the exploit was found in a Christian dating site, so the attacked were going to be Christians. These pranksters could care less about some sort of statement, they just know how to push buttons for cheap laughs.
People needn't overthink these things.
Gravity existed before Newton proved it. If the existance of God can not be proven, it's a science fault.
hahaha
i bet there were a few mild and non-blasphemous cuss-words when they found out:
"oh dear"
"oh crikey"
"that faunicating fatherless person!"
but theyll be ok - a man in a nightie will pat them on the head and make it all better. then he'll ask them for some cash (no cheques)
I am a member of anon, and can tell you that it was ebaum's world.
In addition to that. Christians are just plain retarded. Look at westboro baptist church, a true representation of the retarded extremities that Christians can go to (also, the KKK are a Christian Sect).
just brisked through points like science cant prove god, who created god etc. I am not here to preach but i came up with a thought and couldnt find answer. dedicating to inquirer for first time sharing this though of mine. the thought is, the order of containment is like earth, solar sys, galaxy, galaxies, universe, now further that there is nothing. right nothing !?! so what containing that nothing. let put other way when u crossed universe u go into that nothing u move around in that nothing and finds nothing so how far u can move in that nothing.
just leave god, no god, religion all out. If point understood, this might send shiver down ur spine. Will be Interesting read for me if anyone has answer.
Thanks.
Both of your arguments are based upon science not being advanced enough yet to answer your questions. That doesn't 'mean that in the future, if our species has one, these questions won't be answered and the god question evaporated once and for all.
I will get you to consider this though, and that is the question the mi1400 posited about 'what is outside the universe?'
Consider that the universe is outside the universe. That the universe contains all possible universes, all other possibilities in the form of those universes.
If you were going outside this universe to the universe that looked to encompass this one you would unlikely be able to consider the magnitude of the size of the universe in comparison. Conversely, you would also unlikely be able to consider the absolute minuscule nature of all the universes contained within this universe.
Anyway, why does the universe exist? Because it can, it is her because the possibility of it existing, but it also doesn't exist, because there will also be the possibility that it can't exist.
So the universe is here because of chance
Here's the altered profile. Hilarious.
