AT THE TOSHIBA TG01 launch event we were given an exclusive walk-through of the mobile phone based on the Qualcomm Snap Dragon 1Ghz chipset running on Windows 6.1 mobile OS with a customised UI.
Through the advanced technology of INQTV we proudly bring you that very video.
Walking the INQ through this handset that has just arrived on the Orange network is Hiroyuki Goto, Technical Director of Toshiba Mobile Communications Division in Europe.
We're hoping to see the handset soon for a more in-depth review, stay tuned. µ
The Toshiba TG01 is the mid-second quarter is expected in the shops. The device will also come to the Netherlands, but will only be available through specialist retailers. More information about Toshiba TG01 can be found on the http://www.techarena.in/review/9715-toshiba-tg01-touchscreen-smartphone-cinema-your-pocket.htm page.
It's Interesting that the Toshiba TG01 only has two buttons on the front - the home and the back buttons - and they look capacitative at that. The dial and hang-up buttons are implemented within the soft key area which is new in a WM device.

Let us pray that this Gigahertz thingie don't scorch people pockets and spontaneously catch fire during use.
It ain't cool to bash Iphone, it's hot, bacon frying hot.
It's good to see Windows Mobile has moved on from awkward little controls that need precision targeting with your nail... /sarcasm
I know it's cool to bash the iPhone around here but I've had 4 Pocket PC/Windows Mobile devices and I've really not looked back (aside from the multi-tasking).
