SAMSUNG AND MOTOROLA could be about to launch handsets based on Nvidia's Tegra chip, according to the Taiwanese gossip mongers.
Market sources in Taiwan told DodgyTimes that the Green Goblin has secured design wins from "some of the top-five brand handset vendors", with Samsung and Motorola singled out for special mention.
Nvidia spokespeople told the INQ that it's really up to the device makers themselves to announce their designs, but said "It's exciting though," adding that Tegra opens up some "amazing possibilities" and it will be "interesting to see what our customers get up to!"
Edging closer to a confirmation, Luciano Alibrandi, Nvidia's European director of product PR told us, "Tegra has an incredible momentum behind it and, as such, we have won several designs." He added that the OEMs involved will be "introducing their designs to the market before the end of the year."
Here's hoping the rumours don't turn out to be phoney. µ
