During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act - George Orwell
THE HIGH TECH COMPUTING corporation launched the first Android mobile phone without any Google endorsement whatsoever in London today.
All the previous Android handsets carried the Google name and were heavily endorsed by the search giant. But not the HTC Hero. Its Android OS has been ‘enhanced' which HTC says is the reason why the Google name is absent.
Nevertheless, the relationship between the two companies is still solid, an HTC flak told the INQ.

The Hero has a 3.2in touch-screen and runs HTC's new Sense user interface. It has an anti-fingerprint screen coating that's very much needed, and Adobe Flash support - also a first for an Android mobile.
The phone bears a resemblance to HTC's Magic handset as seen on Vodafone in the UK and coming to T-Mobile soon.
The Orange and T-Mobile networks in the UK will be giving Hero house room, with tariffs and packages to be announced in July when the handset arrives. µ
I may have missed the announcement, but this is powered by an ARM chip AND running full Flash?
Isn't that a huge thing? I thought we had eagerly been awaiting that compatibility.
Unless the article means Flash Lite?
Announcement here -

And a video of even the G1 using Flash -

Flash + ARM means a lot of happy 'smartbook' - sorry, netbook makers in the next few months. Qualcomm, etc... especially as it had previously looked like the partnership between Adobe & Nvidia would give the Tegra that particular upper-hand.
Unless the article means Flash Lite?
