Intel to supply Nokia

Pushing into wireless and mobile
Tuesday, 23 June 2009, 10:43

CHIPZILLA appears to be extending its hold over the mobile and wireless markets by striking a deal with Nokia.

According to one of Bloomburg's  deep throats, Intel wants to flog Nokia processors for mobile devices.

We expect the deal will be announced later today. Intel has scheduled a conference call for an "important announcement" with Anand Chandrasekher, senior vice president and general manager of the company's ultra mobility group.

Intel obviously is not saying anything at the moment, but we should know this afternoon. Predicting the outcome of press conferences is a hobby of hacks the world over. Saves them having to attend. µ

2009: years of Intel, Sony, google, Nokia spells breaking

Samsung: latops, cameras, hdds, lcds
Acer: laptops, lcds, servers.
Sony Ericsson: cameras, PMPs, laptops, PS3, PSP, Sony's skill, Ericsson's skill
Nokia: !?!

I know Nokia is largest but people mostly buy Nokia because of resale. Like everyone used to buy Pentium when they knew Athlon-fx was faster. Why just because when he'll go to sell it out, sheep walkers will be there.
