Steve Jobs had liver transplant

So much for hormone replacement therapy
Monday, 22 June 2009, 09:25

ALL THE MEDIA, including CBS, have reported that Apple messiah Steve Jobs did not take six weeks off for hormone therapy as the world was told.

Instead he received a brand new liver to replace the old one which apparently had been compromised by the pancreatic cancer for which he had been operated on back in 2004.

Jobs received his liver transplant in Tennessee about two months ago, according to reports.

Apple's chief executive has been recovering well and is expected to return to work on schedule later this month, though he may work part-time initially.

Medical professionals believe Jobs went to Tennessee for his liver transplant because that state had a shorter waiting list for a liver transplant than other states.

Our guess is that the organ donor was an Apple employee who got caught leaking news about upcoming products to the press. µ

Joking about a man's health

is not in the least bit funny. Then again why am I expecting good taste or common decency from the hack rag who danced on the grave of Reiser's innocent victim?

I't not polite, it shows bad taste, but it's funny

did they throw away the original liver, or is it appearing in ebay for the joy of a lucky fan? who, of the millions of virgin apple fanbois, was sacrificed to supply the replacement?

Apples are not the only fruit

Steve Jobs was also responsible for Pixar, former CEO and owner, not just Apple.

Even if you hate Apple you surely love Pixar movies? (Or at least the good ones.)

Apple more secretive than USSR

The SEC and other federal agencies should investigate and take action against Apple for materially misinforming their investors. St. Eve of Job's health directly affects the market valuation of Apple, for them to deliberately lie about the state of his health is to deliberately keep pertinent information from the stockholders. Jobs and the rest of his fruity minions should be mercilessly whipped for their arrogance and obfuscation.

Apple's stock not so vole-tile

Apple's stock is up 20 cents since the Sunday press release...

One man isn't a company and while fan boys love him they would sacrifice Jobs for access to the Verizon network with their iPhones

Investors would never trust a company with a single break point... the moment Steve's health can have a serious impact to apple's stock is the day it tanks.

Only a very Rich Man

Could afford an organ tranplant in the USA.

The rest of us slobs, including enough Apple employees, would have to fly to India for such a procedure.

Title should not be blank...

Apple fans would like to credit everything to Jobs, it seems. Steve Jobs only purchased Pixar (for a bargain price too); he didn't found the company or run it, or develop any innovations that contributed to their success. Next people will be claiming that Bill Gates personally invented every technology that's now included in Windows.

Perhaps if Steve had out-sourced the operation, some unscrupulous Indian or Chinese doctor would have served him up with a juicy new liver torn straight out of a street urchin or a prisoner - but then the warranty wouldn't be worth much.

@H. Ruiz

H:

You do know, do you not, that Linux has stolen every single idea it has from MS? Linux has a file system, outputs to monitor or printer, can beep the speaker, runs programs, responds to user actions, uses a CPU and memory. Even MS's greatest accomplishment - context switching - was stolen by Linux.

I won't even get into the beautiful ideas stolen from MS by other organizations. Networked IPC by CORBA, 3d graphics by SGI via GL, that BSD UNIX thing called sockets, Sun's doors, Oracle DBMS not to mention Ingres, file and print serving stolen STOLEN I SAY by Novell.

Even Xerox PARC: stole from MS before MS even had a chance to invent the mouse!

I weep every time I fire up my Linux box for the crime I commit. Logging into the Tru64 boxes at work before they were decommissioned was almost more than I could bear. Every evening before falling into uneasy sleep I pray that the US Patent Office will forgive my transgressions.

Liver?

That might explain why he was so liverish.

No seriously, troubles with liver can definitely make you a bit bilious.

A new liver may have an effect on his disposition. I wonder who the donor was? What were they like in the mornings?

I do hope he recovers well and carries on enjoying life! (Even if I would never shell out for an Apple, its nothing personal!)

@Vanillacide: about Pixar

While I hope Steve Jobs recovers its vastly over inflated that fans of Steve Jobs imply Pixar is due to him. Thats totally wrong.

Pixar grew out of Lucasfilm which was founded by George Lucas. The technical side of Pixar grew out of the then pioneering work done by Ed Catmull (a major pioneer in 3d graphics) combined with the artistry of John Lasseter, which can be seen as far back as the earliest Pixar Shorts such as Wally Bee, Luxo Junior, Red's Dream, Tin Toy and Kick Knack.

Further more, as well as the above mentioned shorts, Pixar had already signed and done the Genesis Effect in Star Trek II and work in Young Sherlock Holmes. All this before Steve Jobs. Also the films are the work of the team of artists lead by John Lasseter. I don't see the glowing business hand of Steve Jobs behind the success of Pixar. They were going to succeed with or without Steve Jobs owning that company.
