And "yes" human beings are in the military so occasionally mistakes will be made. This doesn't lessen the tragedy for those families, but a war is being fought. I am sure that those people would gladly sacrifice their lives if they knew that it would lead to the expulsion of the Taliban from their country. They do this both by dropping bombs and firing missiles directly into civilian areas and at infrastructure necessary for civilian survival like water supply, power stations, hospitals, communications, transportation, etc.
