Via and HP team up on PCs for Chinese Enterprise

Nibble Little chips for big China deal

LITTLE TAIWANESE Chippie, Via, has said it will be teaming up with industry giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) to flog enterprise computers to the Chinese market.

Via says it will be bunging its C7-D CPUs and CN896 chipsets into HP's Compaq dx2040, before shipping them off to do business behind the bamboo curtain.

The machine will also purportedly sport 4GB of DDR2 memory, have a Via Chrome 9 GPU, support DirectX 9.0 and Chromotion 3.0 CE technology for hardware acceleration. µ
