THE RUMOUR MILL has churned out word that Intel will release two new dual-core CPUs for the CULV platform.
Digitimes says that Chipzilla will be taking the wrapping off the Celeron 740 and SU2300 processors soon.
Its deep throats claim that the Celeron 740 and SU2300 CPUs feature core frequencies of 1.3GHz and 1.2GHz. They also share the same L2 cache size, 10W TDP and 800MHz FSB specifications.
If this is true, then it will mean that Intel's CULV lineup will be expanded from three levels to four. There will be a single-core entry-level, dual-core entry-level, single-core performance and dual-core performance chips.
The motivation appears to be cost cutting. It means that Intel can drop the price of single-core and dual-core entry-level CPU chips for ultra-thin notebooks by between $61-$91 from August.
Intel is not saying anything about this yet, of course. µ
Is Intel trying to backtrack on their financial error of atom ? They should just quash atom supply and foce this the monopolist!!!
Picard is just an actor... ;) Von Drashek is a bot. Not a borg ! Until Von Drashek will start arguing with us, poor stupid humans, it's just that, a mindless bot :D HA !
'cause he came from the future. The more time advances, the more sense his comments will make. Same happened with Picard. You'll see...
