Actus goes patent lawsuit crazy

Nibble Sues world plus dog
Thursday, 4 June 2009, 10:55

IF YOU HAVE NOT been sued by the outfit Actus then you are one of the few that hasn't.

The outfit clams that more than 15 companies, including Apple, Amazonmdocs, American Express, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Cabela's, Citigroup, Ebay, Firstview, Marketing Technology Concepts, Netspend, Officemax, US Bancorp, and Vivotech have nicked its technology.

At issue are four patents for using electronic tokens for e-commerce. Actus got the e-commerce patents between February 2007 and May 2008. µ

national registry

There should be registry of companies and persons such as Actus and they should be deprived of certain rights enjoyed by others.
If we can do it successfully with sex offenders we can certainly regulate patent trolls.

two apples

Just a note here that there are two apples the computer company and the Beetles founded company. It may be that the law suit is against both companies or it may be that apple computer is just mentioned twice by accident.

Patent system is hosed so badly

Isn't it about time we overhaul our patent system? Its getting out of hand. People get patents way after they should and go sue crazy.

Stupidity at its finest.
