LG to shut down Mexican plant

Nibble Importing now cheaper
Friday, 22 May 2009, 12:43

MOBILE PHONE outfit LG has announced it will close its production line in Mexico after the government earlier this year dropped a 15 percent import tariff on its kit.

With the tariff gone, LG can import its products into Mexico from Brazil. The Brazilian factory is much bigger and the unit cost for each phone is lower.

More than 200 Mexican employees are expected to get their P45s and pink slips, according to the AP. µ

Re: Psycho.

Well before they pack, someone should tell them there aren't any jobs here either.

(How is someone who is otherwise politically Progressive but wants a walled border and no amnesty supposed to vote in this country, anyway?)

Duh

Well, you had no choice with McCain and Obama obviously. But next time around you pretty much have to vote for the Pro-Wall person. Unless you really think something is going to happen about abortion, or care if Khalid Sheik Mohammed is waterboarded, or whatever other thing. Personally I think importing a bunch of people with no job skills just to keep the price of a Motel 6 room or a pound of grapes a few dollars cheaper isn't really worth the cost of trillions of dollars to educate their children, imprison a few of them, and give free ER care to whoever needs it. But that's just me. If we have to double abortions and waterboarding to get a real wall, that's fine with me. If we have to ban abortions and waterboarding to get a real wall, that's fine too.

Maybe American's should buy less Cocaine and sell less guns to the Mexicans?

And as for "them v us", it's way more muddier than that. Do you really think the Mexican people are doing you as much harm as your govt is doing to them and you?

Hey look, they have 2nd largest oil deposits on the planet in Iraq. The guy in power, we put him there, we even sold him poisonous gas to kill civilians. Shit, isn't there anything we can do to steal that country's oil? We could make so much money from it even though we are already rich. We could say the guy is a "threat" and has "weapons of mass destruction". Sure, lets do it.

Then we can invade, remove all forms of local police, army and other security forces and local control. Supply a lot of cash and weapons to the local militia's and let them run riot and encourage each one to be the main boss while supporting his enemy, they kill each other, lowering their forces, easier to control them, destabilising the country and causing civil war while we secure the oil fields.

Iraq has gone perfectly to plan. Afghanistan is next, then Pakistan. What does it border? China and Russia, who are both needing more fuel as they grow.

It's been done like this a 100 times before over 1,000's of years, the same old story with the same old brutally greedy personalities.

And the same young men with foolish patriotism do their bloody work so the men at the top can get wealthier and more powerful.

Does it seem sensible or right for young men to kill because a politician tells them too?

If my local MP told me to shoot someone I'd think he was a nutter, if 10 of them told me to do it it's called a War Cabinet and I have too. LOL.

Only the names have changed.

That's just how it is.

Are you going to kill some guy and his family, steal his country's natural resources, and you might die doing this, just so some politician and his funders can get richer back home? LOL.
