THE WORLD'S oldest blogger, Spanish great-grandmother Maria Amelia Lopez, who had a global following, has died at the age of 97.

According to the AP, her first post on December 23, 2006 said that her grandson, who is very stingy, gave her a blog for her birthday.

Her site had more than 1.5 million hits, and it earned Lopez a meeting with Socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, whom she openly supported. She used to post once a week.

Lopez said that she was not so worried about dying as she was about losing her marbles. It looks like she managed the one without falling victim to the other. µ
