NetApp to buy Data Domain

Nibble Writes $1.5 billion cheque

DATA STORAGE firm NetApp has agreed to buy data backup and disaster recovery systems provider Data Domain for $1.5 billion.

According to the AP, NetApp wants to operate Data Domain as a product line but using its better distribution channels and international reach.

NetApp is an outfit which has seen its profits drop recently thanks to the economic downturn. µ
