It's pretty hard to be efficient without being obnoxious - Kin Hubbard
THOSE READERS in the US waiting for the Palm Pre will have to get in the queue outside their favourite store on the night of June 5.
According to a company statement, the phone will be released on June 6. It will cost $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and will be available through US wireless carrier Sprint Nextel.
Touted as another Iphone killer, the Pre has a new Palm webOS operating system that can run multiple applications at the same time and allows users to move from one application to another, as with a desktop computer.
Certainly it seems worth at look. The device has had shedloads of good reviews and could put Palm back in business. No word yet on when we might see it on this side of the pond. µ
People in the US do not get in queues. They get in lines.
I heard this, and I was hoping to pre-order one. However, it isn't available on my plan (SERO) as the use of this or any smart phone will now require an 'everything data' plan. So, if you have a smart phone and it dies, you may have to downgrade your phone in order to keep the same plan.
...Duke Nukem Forever as the demo app any more :'(

As a Palm Treo lover, I was bitterly disappointed when Palm "sold out" to the Windows Mobile brigade.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these new Pre's!
Wots with the name though Palm? Pre-what? Surely it should have been called Post... post-Palm losing their way and going to the dark side (Win Mobile)!
Anyway, thank God someone in Palm saw the light... I want one!
