Rubber, penguin optional

Dull-in-colour

TINMAN Dell has decided to start flogging brightly coloured netbooks for kiddies.

The new Latitude 2100 is made from brightly coloured, easily gripped, rubber and not plastic.

It does not have any vents or openings, so that if a kid dumps it on their spilt drinks it will not die a wet death. It has a light on top so a teacher can tell if a kid is surfing the net when they should be paying attention in class.

The basic model is powered by an Intel 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU, with 512MB of RAM, a 16GB solid-state drive and either Vista Home Basic (cough!),  XP, or Ubuntu Linux.

Dell's machine starts at $369 which makes it a Nintendo bit expensive. µ
