ACER IS ADDING to its Aspire One line, announcing two new netbooks, the 11.6-inch AO751h and the 10.1-inch AOD250 today.
Weighing in at 1.25 kgs, boasting a 1.22 GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory and a 250GB internal hard drive, the AO751h is being touted as the first 11.6-inch netbook on the market. The firm reckons the little lappie's full sized keyboard, multi-gesture touchpad, web cam and 16:9 high-def, LED-backlit widescreen will win punters over despite a rather pricey $380 for the six-cell battery version.
The AO75ih's touchpad purportedly allows punters to pinch, flick and swirl their fingers to scroll, zoom and flip through when noodling about on Google Earth or editing videos and pictures.

According to Acer, the optional six-cell battery for the AO751h will give the netbook up to eight hours worth of juice, compared with just four on the three-cell version. The crotchtop also offers a plethora of wireless capabilities including Wi-Fi and in-built Bluetooth.
The $300, 10.1-inch AOD250, weighing just 1.1kg, is based on Chipzilla's 1.60GHz Atom N270 processor, comes with a160GB hard drive, three USB 2.0 Ports, a web cam and 1024MB of DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM. It too can come with either a three or six cell battery, with the latter claiming up to six hours of precious lappie life.
Both netbooks come with Microsoft Windows XP Home edition installed. µ

Intel Atom Z520 processor is 1.33ghz not 1.22. I love my Acer Aspire w/ 8Gb SSD, 1.5gh of ram and Windows 7!
I just wish they would return to the original netbook design, add more memory and a bigger SSD for the same price? I would spend £200 for an Aspire One with a 9" screen, 2GB of ram, 32GB SSD and Ubuntu 9.04. Or for the non-linux fans out there, XP Pro. :)
Cheers,
John
Why put a seemingly slower CPU in the larger machine?
Hmmmmm.
When are going to get some decent internal revisions in the netbook world rather then all these externalk changes?
You would not want to take a chance on a cracking graphic chip these days.
Intel might be slower, but you just know it will still be cranking out the pixels in 3 years time.
Let's save ourselves another class action, shall we?
Pretty colors but the hardware/software is not quite what I'm looking for.
