Boffins use robots to sniff out Mexican smugglers

US BOFFINS are trialing the use of robots to foil Mexican smugglers who have been tunnelling under the US border.

According to Wired, the robots use special intelligence software developed at Idaho National Laboratory that can be mounted on different machines.

The Irobot and Foster Miller robots use lasers and sit in the dark tunnels that have been bored beneath the United States border with Mexico, where they wait for the smugglers to show up.

Apparently the robots are ideal for going down into holes where your average border patrol guy does not want to go. µ

I assume the lawsuit Lachlan is referring to would be from Apple, but Irobot has been around since 1990 and Apple didn't start using "i" branding until around 1998, so it's unlikely.
