IN A MOVE which could be the beginning of an Open Sauce push, SpringSource yesterday announced its acquisition of Hyperic.

For ages open source outfits like SpringSource were more interested in playing in the low-cost end of the market.

According to CNET, with Hyperic, SpringSource can provide a complete suite of software products that speed up the entire build, run, and management of enterprise Java applications.

It will also stick it head to head with Biggish Blue and the Vole. µ
