ACCORDING TO Acer UK MD Bobby Watkins, Windows 7 systems will begin shipping on 23 October 2009.
Watkins let the date slip in an interview with Pocket Lint. Explaining the company's update policy. Watkins is said to have said: "23rd October is the date the Windows 7 will be available."
Yesterday, a Microsoft man indicated to the INQ that the firm was on track for a release date, "no more than three years" after Vista. That gives the firm a January 2010 deadline. µ
lATE lAST nIGHT, iN lAB THOUGHT ABOUT ROADMAP OF 7 COMPARED TO vISTA. r/C period for Vista lasted mere 3 months before Retail & beta software ended 3 months after Vistas' release to Retail Market. it could blow you system, buddy.
So FAST. Now took that & applied from R/C date on 7 & came up with Between July'9 & March '10, posted it on Mary Jos art on 7 Dates, on my ZedenkaTV Website(ZD)-Zedenka Was My GrandMother..
About 4 hours latter Article came IN, stating 23Oct'9. Thought & I thought: If You Took two dates of July & March- Split days in half, come exactly on: 23Oct'9.
Good Guess, as it makes sense most close would be exact half way point of possibilities. Mary Jo Used to suggest that UpGrade Option Would Start in June '9, Mary Jo Loves To Push Things Way Before Ready(Yet, Don't Discount Anything, Right Now). So ACER, AS Favoured Customer might have it right. Or Ultee' Or mary Jo. Still awaiting Mikes opinion. drashek
"a release date, "no more than three years" after Vista."
That's marketing speak for "before January". Technically, October is before January, thus he was telling the truth. :)
Cheers,
John
Seems like there trying to get it out before the Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) release. Ubuntu is making a small dent in those GATES at msft.
