LG supplies LTE modem chips to NTT DoCoMo

A feather in its cap
Wednesday, 29 April 2009, 12:59

LG HAS INKED an agreement with Japan's NTT DoCoMo to provide it with the next generation long term evolution (LTE) modem chips.

The deal, which will happen early in 2010, will mean that LG's 100Mbps download and 50Mbps upload chip will have a stable future.

DoCoMo has extremely high standards that have scared off a lot of the competition, apparently. LG getting the NTT contract means that others will also be giving its chips a serious look. µ
