Innovation is a lot like love, everyone knows when it happens, but nobody really knows what it is - Dean 'Mr Segway' Kamen
WHILE INTEL rests on its laurels and grabs a much-needed break from its incessant cycle of product launches, the UK market has decided to help by organising a full-scale launch of the upcoming Core i7 975 part.
Intel has been busy chipping away continuously since Nehalem first reared its head back in November, but Chipzilla now seems to have collapsed in a bit of an exhausted heap, letting UK resellers launch its products instead.
Also slightly interesting is that, here in the UK, there seems to be a bit more enthusiasm for the 975 from British e-tailers than there is State-side.
Or maybe US resellers pay more attention to embargos. µ
Well one of the disties will have listed it on thier system which filters through to all the box shifting resellers that have edi/ftp data links to said distie, hell they probably don't know they are selling it yet :P
If Whitehouse International is correct, then this is a classic case of over-automation, to the point where one simple error at a Disti can smash a worldwide embargo. From what has been posted, there are only a handful of choices, including:- Arrow, Avnet, Computer 2000, Hammer or Ingram... Any votes on who the likely spiller was ?
I had a look at one of the suppliers offering the new i7 975 Extreme, and they also have a new i7 non-extreme, the 950. At least, I've not seen or heard of it being mentioned before...
