New content lands on INQ TV

INQ TV Up-beat projections

OVER ON THE INQ TV CHANNEL, we've posted up some new content, including a demo of Samsung's Beat Edition GT-M7600 mobile running NXP LifeVibes Mix DJ FX software.

We filmed the clip at the Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona earier this year, where Samsung was touting its new handset as the world's first phone with DJ-style music effects, like scratching, flanging, phasing, reverb and time stretching.

Using a user's own uploaded audio, the phone and accompanying software allow for rapid remixing on the go, either for your own audio pleasure, or to bug the hell out of everybody else by setting the creation as a ringtone.

Take a look and a listen and let us know if you think the software sounds like a good idea, or whether the very thought just gives you a splitting headache.

ALSO AT MWC, Texas Instruments did a rather impressive job of projecting its plans for its DLP Pico chipset at MWC Barcelona.

And when we say projecting, we mean, actually projecting, by beaming high quality, full length films straight from mobile phones onto a white screen.

The chipset consists of display technology scaled down to about the size of a Tic Tac, making it easy to fit into mobile phones and other handheld gadgetry.

Sporting WVGA (854×480) native DVD resolution and tech which apparently ups both brightness and power efficiency, the film flinging chipset is coming to a handheld near you sometime in late 2009.

Watch the demo and let us know what you think of TI's new tele beaming tech.

Do you think the move was justified?
