Apple nicked our touchscreen

Nibble Taiwan outfit claims
Wednesday, 8 April 2009, 13:08

TAIWANESE chip designer Elan Microelectronics is suing Apple in the United States for nicking two of its touch screen technology patents.

Elan claims it owns the rights to technology that allows Apple's products to detect the position of the finger on a touch screen or touch pad.

The company has already won a similar lawsuit against Synaptics and is seeking an injunction to stop the sales of any Apple products that infringe its patents. µ

Greedy Monopolists

Don’t you wish these companies would stop trying to stifle competition through their patent “protection” rackets, and try to put out some honest-to-goodness quality products that people would voluntarily pay out good money for?
