Microsoft delays Stirling security suite

Nibble Needs better behaviour detection
Wednesday, 8 April 2009, 13:11

SOFTWARE GIANT MICROSOFT has stuck the brakes on its integrated security suite, Stirling.

The software was supposed to be out in the first half of 2009, but a spokesVole has said that the date will be pushed back to the end of the year.

Vole said that one of the reasons for the delay was that it was trying to provide better interoperability with third-party security software. It also wants to use behaviour-based technology called Dynamic Signature Service to cope with zero day attacks. µ
