Thermaltake puts out Level 10 video

Unique case from a bunch of angles
Mon Apr 06 2009, 18:29

REMEMBER THE THERMALTAKE Level 10 case that debuted at CeBit a few weeks ago?

Photography was verboten at the time, but now Thermaltake has put out a video showing the 'unboxing' of the first unit.

There are a bunch more pictures on that page as well, showing the case from a lot more angles, and this case has a lot of interesting bits only visible at odd angles. What do you think? Rant below. µ

The Craving For Asso Lackciation

What? Just because intellect lacks heart/fashion, doesn’t mean anything goes, or is this desperation trying to elude the geek labelling. This is THE ugliest piece of junk since the word was applied to something Chinese albeit this time, it is spot on. Nonsensically ugly, irrelevant, out of context and out of focus. Don’t believe it, eh? Watch out for the price for when worship is at its height, they’ll suggest that you are lucky to be able to buy one. The height of intellect is stupidity and the summit of emotion is dumbness. Well punk, which is it, whilst not forgetting that when it is hard to decide, the answer is usually both.

New Video of features

FirstZoom.tv hosted the above Thermaltake video, and has subsequently had the Level 10 in their Studio. The presenters go through some of the features, but do they reveal whats inside the box?

Ohhh the handle

God is this thing ugly! At least it has a handle so that you can throw it away easily. :P

IBM On Acid

I said it once when the first article tipped up and I'll say it again....

It looks like a case designed by IBM engineers who were tripping on acid.

Look at the cubist architecture and even the handle at the top. That's IBM....writ large and....well....weird.

But I like it!

Looks more like an Outi than a BMW

What kind of gas mileage does it get?
Seriously: it looks like a sexy racked component stereo. I wish TT would add Big Water to it, so people would not piss on it. I want one, along with everything else, of course.

Woah welcome to the 80's

That thing looks like something molded with recycled plastic from a 1984 Honda Accord. The concept is a genius idea but this specific design just isn't very aesthetically nice. I don't think you can fit full sized ge-deon cards in there either. Not to mention a power supply. What about proper ventilation (especially the hard drive areas)? What about cable routing? Need pics and specs of the inside!

Also, reminds me of a PS2 standing up.

Stupid waste of time

OH come on! This video is a waste of time, as is writing an article about it unless TT is bribing you to. All of the video is 2 guys unpacking a cardboard box. There is a 2 second stationary shot of the case that might as well have just been a pic. Thanks for wasting our time.

It's gonna take a whole lot of dusting to keep clean.

I mean....

It looks like it is a perfectly functional case, but it is not very pretty in my opinion. I bet it is a fantastic piece of work, but an eye sore.

INQ Poll

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
