MS phone being made now at Flextronics
REMEMBER THE MS Zune phone we were talking about earlier? Remember how it didn't show up at 3GSM like we said?
Word has leaked to the Inquirer that the phone is still a go, and design mavens everywhere will be glad to know that the people who brought you the chocolate Zune are going to do a phone.
Iphones are going to become obsolete, and large, square, heat-shielded, and heavily-reinforced pockets will be coming back into style.
Unless MS planned to show only a buggy far future OS at the 3GSM keynote, one could conclude that it missed its production date. If you also knew that for the last week or so, Flextronics has been building a prototype run of about 2,500 units, that would be a bit more evidence.
Toss in that Nvidia IR has been privately and separately bragging to analysts that they are going to show something big at CTIA Wireless 2009 tomorrow, and you have a match. There you go, all the market-storming power of a Zune, coupled with the tight power control and reliability of an Nvidia part, and you have a winner. Oh yeah, we hear that the odds are good LG will be involved too.
I can't wait, if I was at the show, I could sleep in the morning of that keynote. µ

Or, you could just buy a phone running Android, which actually works.

It will have built in DRM for when you say something that is copy protected you will get charged, however if you don't pay and opt for a free ver it will down grade your call quality.
I need my phone for my business, the last thing I would want would be to make that an overpriced expensive unreliable slow piece of DRM ridden licensed burdened crap like every other piece of shit that falls out the arse of redmond.

My Mum bought a vista laptop. She went to play one of her mp3's that she ripped from a cd she bought. Windows media player stopped her, said she needed a lience to play and Windows media player would need to contact MS to obtain one. She asked me about it, I said to go ahead.
If she ripped the mp3 from a legal cd why does Windows media player need to call MS to obtain a licence cert for my Mum?
And a chance to stiff some more partners. Cool!

This one could be a winner, the zune was actually a nice prodcut. There no reason to think that the msphone will be worse.

Yeah like the iphone doest have DRM, and like the Iphone doesnt go brick if you update a jailed system. Degraded sound quality sounds like a better deal. Or you could just get an android phone, just good luck if you want to stay on a cdma network.
What's wrong with making DRM jokes. Don't use this phone to wish someone a Happy Birthday, you will be billed. Oh! Billed! Ha ha!
