Friday, 27 March 2009, 12:19

ACER HAS LAUNCHED a 'business class' desktop which it will be peddling with a credit crunch-busting price tag of $399.

The Veriton X270 is based on Nvidia's 630i motherboard with Geforce 7100 integrated graphics and can handle a wide range of Intel CPUs, up to a Core 2 Duo.

There is up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, one PCI-Express x16, one PCI-Express x1 and two PCI slots, all low profile, an SATA hard drive with up to 500GB of space, a SuperMulti optical drive, 5.1-channel integrated audio, Gigabit LAN and... er, that's it.

It will ship with Windows Vista Business through Acer's reseller chain. µ

Whats the difference...?

Sounds the same as their normal retail PCs. Nvidia 630i (ick). Manufactured by MSI. Only difference is the case and the price.

@ Ryan

That's kind of a big difference. Not to mention this one will be available with whatever level of business support they offer (not that they are anywhere near the level of Tier 1 supplier in support).
