MAKER OF EXPENSIVE PRINTER INK HP has released a free development tool that finds vulnerabilities in Flash.
The tool, with the catchy title SWFScan, is designed for developers without security backgrounds and was built by HP's Web Security Research Group.
HP claims that SWFScan joins other tools that can spot problems with Flash, such as Flare and SWFIntruder. But HP said its offering is the only one that can be used with Flash versions 9 and 10; ActionScript 3, Flash's scripting language; and Flex, an Open Source Web application framework used by Adobe. µ

something to tell people that this 400KB of flash could have been said in two lines of text and to stop wasting my time and bandwidth!
Or perhaps it would be better if it said that the choice of sound/colour/effects is 'So last year dearie!' that they would just butt out altogether.
A tool to address some of the problems with Flash? Be serious, address all issues, with one strike: remove that stupid flash plugin.
