ORACLE HAS TOLD the world plus dog that it is buying Relsys International, a writer of drug safety and risk management software.

The deal will be closed in the first half of the year and no one is saying how much cash changed hands.

People in the know think that is is part of Oracle's glorious five-year plan to carve a niche in the health industry. Most of the world's big pharmaceutical companies use Relsys' code which tracks and analyses safety-related data. µ
