HARD-UP MILLIONARE HARDWARE maker Michael Dell has sharpened his axe yet again, making 230 more workers redundant.

One in ten workers of its 2,300-strong workforce in Cherrywood, south Dublin and Limerick will be cleaning out their desks.

It is the second major cut for the mid-west after the PC maker made 1,900 staff redundant at its manufacturing plant in Raheen in January as part of its plan to move production to Poland.µ

desk cleanup

Actually, they won't be cleaning out their desks. The way Dell does layoffs is they pay a 3rd party moving company to clean your desk and mail your property to you. Naturally, this occurs after they have taken you into a back room to have you eliminated and security has escorted you out of the building.

That's right - they really are that afraid that a layed off employee will cause an incident.

Mindless Management

What are the remaining staffers at Dell doing? Hoping for the best, or searching for a better company?

Maybe Michael Dell should try the same in France, and explain it on site. Sony?
