GRAPHICS chip outfit Nvidia has decided to delay its Nvision 2009 conference and might be replacing it with something smaller and cheaper.

Nvidia Derek Perez told Ars Technica that the economy was affecting everyone's ability to travel.
Instead Nvidia wants to focus its attention on the core of the GPU development community with a more 'concentrated' event.
He said that the event had not been canned and Nvidia would be making an announcement on the new format soon. µ

They're just going to take Nvision 2008 and rename it to 2009... same content, keynotes, word for word identical. Just the banners will change.
Good point, but as usual, they'll advertise things like CUDA, which weren't advertised as much in the last generation... err... the last conference.
LOL nice one.
Or maybe they'll just show the people edited recordings of last time, with 2008 changed to 2009.
I dunno. After what the Barak-ster did to Perez are you sure it isn't our wonderful Sylvie (aka attack dog in training) and her wonderful expose of Perez's stupidity? I think she's scarier than Charlie, by far, the men think with their other head when she's around and boy oh boy listen to what they say when they want to impress her!
They wouldn't want to take another chance that their PR bunnies stupid statements make it out to the real world public.
Everything out now has already been seen, including the 3D glasses that were launched at CeBIT 2007, 2008 and 2009. The rebranding of the 88 98 250 chips went well and there are just abou enough GTX295 cards around to prevent people saying it is EOL. It's not that nVision has been cancelled due lack of interest or lack of products, there's just no 'killer product' that will actually make people turn up. The thought is to maybe hire a bigger suite in the Grand Hyatt and have a few friends over for alcopops.
or does anyone else seem to think that the greenies are holding out until after the end of the month... y'know, until they understand what the "threat" is... juuust enough to amazingly spin a bit more convenient show date to have out, say, a new product to use to downplay/compete with a certain larger-than-life lizard's latest offering?... LOL ROFL Haha HA hA ha ha! ROFLMAO! ahhh, ahh ah...
...yeah, that happens too.
Some of us think the Penny Arcade Expo(PAX) is pulling possible consumers away from their show due to the penny arcade expo being the same week last year.
Nvidia should just do themselves a favor and get a big booth at PAX and call it a day.
