AN UNFORTUNATE LOGO which has somehow made it onto the Apple App Store appears to be a Freudian slip.

After years of Apple kicking its fanboy base with its autocratic and expensive gizmos, it appears that one app developer has finally come clean with what he thinks of them.
Its latest application for the Iphone is a product called Icount which seems innocent enough, if not a bit challenging for the average fanboy.
However the logo that accompanies the product seems to be arranged in a way so that the letter 'o' is dropped.
Of course this must be an accident, after all Apple has made a big thing about how it does not allow swearing in its Iphone Apps.
Quite how it failed to notice a logo with the rudest word in the English language smack bang in the middle of the front page of Itunes is beyond us.
We conclude that Apple is trying to tell its users something, subliminally. µ

Icount on Itunes
Update
Seems that the folks at Cupertino have noticed the error of their ways and have removed the (potentially) offending article from the front page. We'd love to see the email from Apple to the developer.
Quite how it failed to notice a logo with the rudest word in the English language smack bang in the middle of the front page of Itunes is beyond us"
Why does that paragraph start with "Quite"?
Because it's brit speak.
It's called the English language. We invented it, don't you know.
Have a super day y'all!
awesome journalism, I bet when you go home at night you sleep really well.
I am not native English reader... Can someone explain me, whats wrong with 'dropped 'o''??
When you remove the "o", it says "icunt". "Cunt" is a rude slang word in English used in place of the word vagina. It is usually used as an insult to a man who is acting rude or holding a grudge against someone, which is seen as woman-like behavior.
Not Iphone but iPhone, not Icount but iCount.
How about iBumbaclot?
you think thats the rudest word in the english language? wow
@Burlington Bertie
If you invented it you should know how to speak it. "Quite" is an adjective. In that sentence it isn't modifying anything.
Actually "quite" is used perfectly correctly in that context.
It's modifying the word "how". You could still have the same meaning without "quite", but it puts emphasis on how obvious this should have been to anyone who so much as glanced at the logo.
/run-on, but quite correct sentence ;)
Sorry, fellers...
I object to the term 'fanboy', granted there are too many trendy types using Apple products these days but not everyone who uses a Mac is a bloody 'fanboy'. When did this term come into existence anyway?
I have been using Apples since 1990 and it certainly wasn't bloody trendy then. Besides; microsoft sucks.
:p
That some American's think their english is the Queen's english and brits don't know nuts.
It took me a few seconds to realize the problem...
Seriously, Steve Forstall said the word "asses" down during the keynote. Need I say more? (Besides, everybody knows the App Store approval process is ridiculous.)
Nice apostrophe usage there, Mr. Chan.
FAIL
Good explanation Yagami_Light!
English can be confusing.
For all the "quite" comments, nobody said anything about the missing "t":
"Of course his must be an accident..."
Why throw the hate out all us americans when it really is just some? Sure, it's easy to
americanize words (as you can see I just did it right then) but the base language is really
not so different. I'm trying to space out some words here so forgive my odd wording in this
krazy part. I tend to think this won't work but iGuess it worked against Apple in this odd,
exaggerated case. If Apple really wants to keep a lock down on what is available it should
remember to keep a closer look.
Did it work?
One of the shittiest written articles I've read in quite some time!
I foolishly thinking that apple products were good because of the hype and bought an iphone 3g and an ipod. I had some extra cash cuz i have this site that makes a lot of money so i fell into a bit of money.
well all I can say is I will never buy apple products again. They last so short and are too expensive and don't work. the battery died in 4 weeks of buying it. worst products and theyre too expensive. apple is the worst company.
d inglish l4ngwij blongz 2 me, so i spelz n ritz it how i f33lz lik it
four week battery life!? what the hell where you doing to it?
I have a Apple PowerBook from 1993 that still works fine. It just depends how you look after stuff, i mean if you weren't constantly sticking your iPhone up your *rse on vibrate the battery may have lasted longer!
:p
Hrrrm, a new app called the iCunt? I assume this is the latest social dating app at the itunes store? It probably would sell pretty well. :P
@Stuart Hannig
You do know you have to CHARGE the phone right? ;D
I think you're all a bunch of cunts for being so pedantic! Now fuck off and get a life you sad fucks.
I think your a cunt for using the word pedantic.
as of 14.36(CET), it's still up on the German iTunes Store. It seems that iTunes now defaults to the App. Store. Funny cause I don't own either th Touch nor the iPhone. :/
This still isn't as good as the 'I am rich' app from a few months back. Now that really did treat Apple customers like the cunts that they are.
When I look at the logo, I see "I CON U" which describes apple products rather well actually. I congratulate Apple on their truth in advertising.
Can I get get this app on my itouch so I can touch a ....? (sorry, but I had to say it.)
When I worked at IBM a team almost announced a release of a "Golden Master Beta" until someone in a meeting pointed out how that sounds spoken out loud.
"When I look at the logo, I see "I CON U" which describes apple products rather well actually. I congratulate Apple on their truth in advertising."
You read in a zigzag, disregarding the occasional letter? Good try but 0/10 on the execution.
I was under the impression the word "cunt" was actually an acrynim for Can't Understand Normal Thinking, therefor Apple has made it more personalised iCunt :)
@cawpin: "Quite" is NOT an adjective rather an ADVERB, eg. I'm quite ecstatic to fix that for you.
I initially thought it was one of those tin badges you pin on your chest only available to Apple owners.
the word quite, well who really gives a shit you know what he meant. I bet some of you even sign (like deaf people) apostrophes etx during a conversation.
Who voted "cunt" the rudest word in the English language? And doesn't that very "fact" make it the perfect word to reach for when you want to shock?
cunt is an acronym for :
Computer User, Needs Training
or
Constantly Uttering Nothing Technical
I hate to rain on everyone's parade here, but the word "cunt" is neither an adjective nor an adverb. It's not even an acronym.
Used in its proper context, the word "cunt" refers purely to a person of French origin.
Don't claim you don't recognise the word Americans. I've watched lots of American "gentlemen's entertainment" movies, and I've heard the word used a lot of times!!!
