SAMSUNG has ignored the Nvidia and Intel netbook chip wars and opted for the processor from Via, the Nano for its latest range.
Samsung has said that it will use Nano in its upcoming NC20 netbook and Q1EX-71G UMPC.
The Nano has virtually disappeared off the radar last July after it cleaned the Atom's clock in most of the performance reviews.
The version being jacked into the NC20 is only 1.3Ghz processor which is much slower than the 1.8Ghz Nano review copies that were sent out.
The Q1EX-71G is a seven inch UMPC with Windows XP Tablet, it has a 1.2GHz Nano processor, two gigs of memory, and a 1.8-inch hard disk. It is expected to cost around $180 in the US. µ

$180!! how about more like $800. An mp3 player costs $180.
Its about time that we got some competition. Last time I read and have to agree is that the Nano cleaned Atoms clock. Last time I checked with the rest of the world we in North America get alot of inferior products, its like certain companies have a right to sell inferior products for a limited time so they can recoup some of their development cost even tho its crap.
I'm slightly disappointed tho that Samsung is going to feed us the Nano in speed bursts, today 1.2 next month 1.3 next month after 1.4 etc etc. I suppose the 1.7 will cost over $500. I'm going to hazard a guess that the Nano won't have to use a dumbed down version of Win 7 starter edition which would be fantastic.
For $180, I'll take two! Can someone confirm that price?
"The Samsung NC20 will be available for purchase soon, with an estimated price of about $650 that will vary with configurations."

I want both Atom and NVIDIA graphics, that is ION. Nano is too power hungry and VIA VX800 graphics is a non-contender on either power or performance. Shame be on Shamsung.
Poor factual content, the inquirer, surely not!
$749 according to Samsung
