Wants camcorder king
Monday, 9 March 2009, 15:49

THE DARK satanic rumour mill has manufactured a yarn that suggests maker of network kit, Cisco wants to buy the former maker of HiFi speakers Pure Digital.

Pure Digital moved into DAB radios and recently released Flip Video camcorders which have become widely popular due to their ease of use and sharing of video via YouTube and MySpace.

TechCrunch has an unconfirmed report that Cisco has now coughed up over US$500 million for the outfit. µ

Pure Digital Inc, not Pure Digital Ltd.

I guess it's Pure Digial Inc. (http://www.puredigitalinc.com/ the camcorder people), that are are the target.

Pure Digital (http://www.puredigital.com/ the DAB radio people), are part of Imagination Technologies, (http://www.imgtec.com mobile graphics devices people). As Apple and Intel own 3.6% each, I don't think they will be up for sale for a while.

definitely puredigitalinc.com

It's most definitely Pure Digital Technologies, Inc. of San Francisco, CA that is the purchase target, not the DAB radio guys.

Nano radio

Speaking of radios, check out the current issue of Scientific American magazine. Boffins have created a radio out of a single carbon nanotube.
